we had the fantastic opportunity to run a LEGO Robotics workshop for the Transition Year students at Ardscoil na Mara. From the moment we arrived, the energy in the room was electric—students were ready to dive into hands-on problem-solving with LEGO and coding.

The workshop focused on building and programming LEGO robots, challenging students to think critically, collaborate, and, most importantly, get creative with their solutions. Many arrived thinking coding was just about numbers and logic, but they quickly discovered it was so much more.

As they experimented with different commands, fine-tuned their robot’s movements, and tackled obstacles, the realisation set in—coding isn’t just technical; it’s an art. One group even designed an innovative way for their robot to navigate a tricky course, proving that problem-solving with code is as creative as painting a picture or composing music.

By the end of the session, students weren’t just programming robots—they were creating, innovating, and having fun. The biggest takeaway? Coding isn’t just for tech experts; it’s for anyone with an imagination. A huge thank you to Ardscoil na Mara for welcoming us—we can’t wait to be back for more!
